Google is advancing artificial intelligence by creating software that can think like humans. How does Google generate the software for reasoning?

According to two of the people, Google is attempting, like OpenAI, to simulate human reasoning through the use of a method called chain-of-thought prompting.

With this method, which Google invented, the program evaluates several connected questions and summarizes what seems to be the best answer, all the while pausing for a few seconds before answering a written prompt. Behind the scenes, this process takes place without the user’s knowledge.

According to reports, Google DeepMind and BioNTech are developing artificial intelligence (AI) lab assistants to assist researchers in organizing scientific studies and more accurately forecasting their results. 

According to a Financial Times report, Google’s chief AI officer, Sir Demis Hassabis, is guiding the company’s efforts to build a particular AI model that would serve as a research assistant.

The 3D architectures of almost all known proteins were accurately predicted by DeepMind’s AI system AlphaFold in 2022. This accomplishment resolved a problem that had confounded scientists for fifty years, and the model is thought to have the capacity to completely transform biological study.

Google is also aiming to enhance the “reasoning” capabilities of its Gemini chatbot. The fastest and lowest priced type, the 1.5 Flash edition, was made available by Google in July and is compatible with the free Gemini app. Google promised that version 1.5 Flash will give Gemini a “quicker and more helpful response” and that customers will see improvements in Gemini’s reasoning and image processing abilities.
